Ven Geshe Ngawang Phende

Geshe Ngawang Phende was born in Nepal and was ordained as a monk at the age of 12 in Dhoptop Monastery, Nepal. For the two years he was involved in learning Buddhist text and rituals. Then for the study of the Basic Buddhist Philosophy, he joined Drepung Loseling Monastery (the Central Buddhist University) India in 1982 where he learnt Buddhist Philosophy until he gained his Geshe Degree. He attended Gyume Monastery for one year for the further Tantrism course.
