In the Garden

These are a few pictures taken around the garden that may be of interest to gardeners. The thorn tree is fascinating.

Prayer flags in the garden, stretching across to the thorn tree in the centre of the garden.
Geshe-la showing interest in the thorn tree. It's such a smooth tree with delicate leaves, but the thorns are unbelievably vicious. We are both fascinated by this tree. See the close up in the next picture.
These thorns are up to 12" long. They seem to have no relationship to the rest of the tree. It is as if they have violently burst out of the trunk.
The main trunk has been shorn of thorns by Geshe-la on his previous visit so no one comes to any harm. This must have been a foreboding task, even if he does have a penchant for cutting the brambles in Wales!
