 Hatha Yoga with Jo

This class is designed to suit all abilities, encouraging you to listen to your body and move into postures finding the right balance between effort and ease. You will be guided to step away from your busy mind and feel into body sensations. Focusing on self awareness and working towards finding your own inner stillness.

Mats are provided, but feel free to bring your own.

Iyengar Yoga classes are carefully sequenced so you will feel the most benefit, improving strength, flexibility and stability. Props or supports are used to enable all students to feel the benefits of the poses, and to improve precision, alignment and understanding. Although challenging, each class will leave you feeling refreshed and calm. This class is suitable for all levels, including complete beginners. The class is differentiated depending on the experience of the students that day.

Mats and other equipment are provided, but feel free to bring your own.

About Ellen

Ellen has been practicing Iyengar Yoga since 2005, and began her two year training course in 2013. The two year course (involving a minimum of 120 hours of training) became longer due to two babies. Ellen passed her rigorous day long assessment in 2018, after shadowing a more senior teacher at Yogawest in addition to her formal training.

Ellen says: “Iyengar Yoga has given me the space to find quietness in an otherwise busy life, which has been a huge benefit. I love the way that my mind becomes so focused on the postures and practice that I am truly present. Iyengar Yoga is careful and precise. It allows the student discover how their body works, where there is balance and imbalance, and where alignment, strength and flexibility can be improved. I hope that my students enjoy the learning that comes in each class, and the glow that follows the practice.
